Please join us to experience the unique musical talents of Dr. Charles J. Smith, an accomplished pianist, accompanist and composer with autism. A Chicago native, Smith has written over 500 compositions throughout his career, including reinterpretations of pieces by Chopin and Liszt, as well as an arrangement of Christmas music on CD. This special concert will include a performance of music from his classical piano repertoire, as well as original compositions.
After the concert there will be plenty of time for a Q&A session with the audience. This special concert will inspire you and expand your appreciation for musical talent and create a new understanding of autism. Brought to you in partnership with the Mount Prospect Public Library and the offices of: State Representative Jonathan Carroll, State Senator Julie Morrison, and Congressman Brad Schneider.
