The
Kingston Trio was at the core of the folk revival of the late 1950s with the
release of their first album and the hit recording of “Tom Dooley,” which sold
over three million copies as a single. Their popularity continued through the
1960s with the unprecedented success of nineteen albums, five of which hit the
number one spot. Peter, Paul and Mary brought a style and flair that captured a
new mood of the nation. Both groups led
the way in making American folk music something that touched everyone for a
very special period of time. Join us as
singer, musician, and entertainer Steve Justman showcases the music of these folk
music icons.
